migration and porting tool Linux-it
Redmond, WA, April 6, 2006- S7 Software Solutions today announced
the launch of their new porting and migration
tool ‘Linux-it’. Based on a deterministic approach, Linux-it
is a suite of tools to port applications to Linux [Redhat, SuSE
etc] from Sun Solaris, HP, SGI, SCO, and AIX. It comprises of Parser,
Wrapper and Converter programs and provides a better porting decision
by estimating the porting and cost complexity even before the porting
process begins.
It also automates the possible porting tasks and reduces time and
development effort. With Linux-it, clients get both tools and a
methodology to move to the Linux environment. It relies upon a set
of scripts and tools to achieve efficiency and productivity improvements
in the process of migration. While the scripts identify the possible
porting issues, the tools actually generate part of the migration
code.

for the porting and migration process. It lets one know in advance
whether porting is possible or not by modules thereby, providing
